Wedding Cakes & Cupcakes
We firmly believe that your wedding cake or cupcakes should taste as good as they look. I'm sure that we have all been to weddings where a beautiful looking cake has been let down by dry sponge or stodgy fruit cake, that's why we want to make sure that your cake is as much of a delight for the tastebuds as it is for the eyes.
That's why all of our cakes and cupcakes are baked freshly from scratch using the finest quality ingredients including free range eggs, fairtrade sugars, Belgian chocolate, locally sourced milk and butter, Madagascan vanilla, and fresh fruit.
Our rich fruit cakes contain brandy soaked currants, raisins, cherries, sultanas and pecans or almonds, are liberally “fed” with brandy (or the tipple of your choice!) each week and are matured for at least 3 months. The fruit cake then gets a lovely natural marzipan 'petticoat', before being covered in sugarpaste and decorated.
Sponge cakes offer a lighter taste experience and can be made with vanilla bean, lemon, chocolate, coffee or other flavour of your choice. Sponge cakes are split and filled with jam, curd or flavoured buttercream before being covered in either buttercream, ganache or sugarpaste and decorated. Alternatively sponge cakes can be presented as a 'naked cake' without any covering.
It is of course possible to mix and match the flavours for a multi-tiered wedding cake, even mixing sponge and fruit cake. we can discuss all of the options available at your consultation.
Beach House Bakery is of course famous for its filled and frosted cupcakes. Some couples choose to have a simple tower of flavoured cupcakes from our regular Menu, but we can of course decorate cupcakes to match your theme, either by adding decorations to the buttercream, or by adding a sugarpaste dome.
Cupcakes can also be decorated to match a tiered cake, allowing you the best of both worlds. Again, we can discuss these options at your consultation.
Of course, you may have something completely different in mind, be it a tower of Chocolate Brownies, a selection of Mini Victoria Sponges, or even plates full of Chocolate Chip Cookies for your guests.
